April 9, 1865
So today there was a the battle at the Appomattox Courthouse and the north WON!!!! Apparently General Lee was trying to make one final attempt to reach his supplies at Lynchburg.
At dawn the Confederates advanced, initially gaining ground against Sheridan’s cavalry. The arrival of Charles Griffin's Federal infantry, however, stopped the advance in its tracks. Lee’s army was now surrounded on three sides. After a brief engagement a Confederate horseman was seen galloping toward Union lines holding aloft a white flag. Lee had surrendered; the war in Virginia was over.

So I am about to give the Emancipation Proclamation today! I am kinda nervous but everybody says I will do fine so I'm good. So I am going to declare that all persons held as slaves within the rebellious
states are, and henceforward shall be free.

Hey guy's bad news. The battle of fort Sumter started today and I am pretty sure a civil war is going to follow. Just be prepared!
